The American state of Massachisetts has long been riddled with problems relating to it's gambling and casino policy. Recently, however, undercurrents in the state legislature seek to regulate gambling throughout the state and make it easier for residents wishing to gamble to do so, as long as it is in a land based casino. While this may be good news for casinos and state bean counters, it is unfortunate for the online casinos, as the new law will outlaw all forms of online gambling within it's borders. The new legislation will even go so far as to make online gambling a criminal activity.

In an absurd new move, the Massachusetts state legislature has ventured a law regulating land based casinos, which could bring in much desperately needed revenue for the state. However, while the state may profit, it is doubtful whether the residents will, as the new law could impose a twenty five thousand dollar fine on anyone caught gambling online. Not only would the online gambler have to pay the fine, but gambling will also be considered a criminal offence, punishable by time in jail. In other words, you can spend you last cent in the land based casinos that pay tax to the state, but the second you punch a certain internet address into your browser, you are a criminal.

On one hand, it makes sense, as the move is made to strengthen the land based casinos that pay heavy taxes to the state. On the other hand, personal liberties are apparently not a consideration, as people have a greater chance of actually winning money in the online casinos, rather than at the land based ones. This right will be taken away from them.
