The September 06, 2009, By Quirino De Luca

In last month's Asian Poker Tour Macau Main Event, Adrien Allain from Rennes, France took home the prize.  The Asian Poker Tour Macau took place at the Galaxy StarWorld casino. online casino news: Frenchman Adrien Allain Wins APT Macau Main Event

326 participants fought it out over a course of poker games and Allain came out on top.  He went home with $3.035 million in a shocking victory.

One of the things that made Allain's victory so amazing was that he actually qualified for the APT tournament through a satellite tournament online with a $5 entry fee.  Allain has played poker online for years, but the most he has won on the Web is $8,000 and he was considered to be a far cry from many of the pro poker players that he played alongside of in the tournament.  He is known in the world of online poker as "zlatan35".  This isn't the first time that an underdog has come into a huge tournament, qualifying through a satellite tournament with a low buy-in, and taken home the gold.  However, each time it happens it is a surprise.

Adrien Allain's win was not only a victory for himself but also a victory for France.  Following behind Allain were Inwook Choi of Korea, J.C. Tran of the United States, and David Steicke and Chris Chau of Hong Kong.  J.C. Tran holds two bracelets from victories in the World Series of Poker (WSOP).  However, Allain still pulled through proving that you don't have to be a professional or famous poker player to win a prestigious poker tournament.
